Swallow - Blown [Double CD]

Discover the essential but underrated cornerstone of dream-pop and shoegaze from the classic 4AD era: Blown by Swallow. This essential reissue packages the band's first two albums, Blow and Blowback, together with an additional two-track single, offering a comprehensive look at the enigmatic duo of Louise Trehy and Mike Mason.

Swallow, formed in London in the early 90s, created music defined by the genre’s signature atmospheric layering of fuzzy guitar textures, beautifully complemented by Louise Trehy’s haunting vocals, resulting in hazy waves of luscious noise. This collection allows fans to re-examine a vital piece of the 4AD catalogue that was previously obscured by time.

• Reissue compiling the first two albums, Blow (July 1992) and Blowback (Autumn 1992), plus a two-track single.
• Essential listening for shoegaze fans, showcasing atmospheric layering and fuzzy guitar textures.
• Features the beautiful and haunting vocals of co-founder Louise Trehy.
• The tracks have been reconstructed from original 24 track tape recordings, remixed, and freshly remastered by Anne Taegart at Dubplates & Mastering Berlin.
• New packaging designed by Chris Bigg (v23) based on the original design by Vaughn Oliver.

This release, entitled Blown, is presented as a double CD set, containing the entirety of Swallow's initial recorded output for the label, reintroduced as an important force in the 4AD canon.

Swallow was formed by Louise Trehy and Mike Mason after being signed by Ivo Watts-Russell. While their time with 4AD was brief following the release of Blowback (which was originally a limited CDEP that quickly fell out of print), their work remains a cornerstone of the dream-pop sound.

Blown provides a crucial opportunity to experience the reconstructed and remastered sound of this influential, yet often overlooked, 90s band.
