Formed in 1987, Autopsy emerged as pioneers of the US death metal scene. Drummer/vocalist Chris Reifert, known for his work with Death, co-founded Autopsy, releasing four influential albums on Peaceville Records before a hiatus. The band made a triumphant return in 2010, continuing to deliver their signature morbid sound with the core trio of Reifert, Eric Cutler, and Danny Coralles.

'Mental Funeral', originally released in 1991, is widely regarded as one of the greatest death metal albums of all time. Recorded at Different Fur Studios and engineered by Ron Rigler, the album features iconic artwork by Kev Walker.
