• Patriotic epic detailing the founding of Rome through the legendary ancestor Aeneas.
• Covers Aeneas's seven-year journey, including his time in Carthage and the underworld.
• Hailed by Tennyson as 'the stateliest measure ever moulded by the lips of man'.
• Includes an introduction and translation by David West.

The narrative follows Aeneas, survivor of Troy, through his trials: a tragic love affair with Queen Dido in Carthage, a descent into the underworld, and his eventual arrival in Italy to found Rome. It is a profound story encompassing themes of defeat, exile, love, and war.
