Description

Baritone Konstantin Krimmel and pianist Ammiel Bushakevitz bring together songs by Johannes Brahms and Eusebius Mandyczewski on this classical vocal album. It includes Mandyczewski’s eighteen Romanian Songs, recorded for the first time in their original Romanian.

The programme explores the composers’ shared interest in folk songs and their taste for melancholy, alongside their connection through friendship and a love of Schubert. Mandyczewski’s songs set texts by Romanian poet Vasile Alecsandri.
