Binita's Story

In Assam, Twinings works with NGO partners to establish Adolescent Girls Groups. Binita is an active member of her local Adolescent Girls Group, where she meets her friends and they discuss important topics such as menstrual hygiene, nutrition and early marriage. Through the Adolescent Girls Group, the girls play a key role in the community by empowering others.

“Being a part of an Adolescent Girls Group has boosted my confidence. It has also given the girls of my community and tea estate a platform to discuss, share and learn about topics such as menstrual hygiene, which is still considered a taboo in our society.”
