Single LP with printed inner sleeve, newly mastered by George Shilling and pressed on Sunshine Yellow colour vinyl LP for the first time ever.
Following the success of their debut album ‘God’s Own Medicine’, The Mission expanded their sound with a collection of epic, emotionally charged songs that combined soaring melodies, dramatic atmospherics and arena-sized ambition.
In 1987 The Mission enlisted Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones to produce their second studio album, ‘Children’, engineered by Mark 'Spike' Stent.
The album charted in the UK at #2 and featured the #12 hit single "Tower of Strength" along with its follow up "Beyond the Pale".
The Children Play world tour, included a seven-night residency at the London Astoria where John Paul Jones made a guest appearance on keyboards alongside additional shows with Robert Plant, the first dates the band played in Latin America, and a small tour of Japan ending with an eight-date arena tour of the UK.
Children helped establish The Mission as one of the most influential bands of their generation and stands as a cornerstone of the late-'80s gothic and alternative rock scene.
To commemorate the 40th anniversary of the band and the release of their debut album, the band are playing a hugely anticipated 4-night residency at London’s O2 Forum Kentish Town in November 2026 where each night they will perform a different set from across their catalogue of 10 studio albums including ‘Children’.
Children has never been released on colour vinyl and has been unavailable on vinyl since 2017.
