SLIFT - Fantasia [2LP Vinyl]

SLIFT - Fantasia [2LP Vinyl]

The radiant and heavy French trio SLIFT delivers their fourth album, Fantasia, a record intentionally positioned as their leanest and most direct offering to date. This riveting saga about overcoming international upheaval showcases a band bearing down with focus, moving away from the sprawling, 10- to 13-minute exploratory escapades of their previous work like 2024’s Ilion.

Key Album Highlights

• SLIFT's most concise and direct record, yet still intensely riveting.
• The trio, friends since high school, recorded this album at Daft Studios in Belgium.
• Features the skillful mixing of Kurt Ballou (known for work with Converge, Cave In, and High on Fire).
• Influences evident across the tracks evoke Clutch, John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Pink Floyd, and Master of Reality-era Sabbath.
• The album was constructed with songs where Jean started the ideas individually before refining them with bassist Rémi Fossat and drummer Canek Flores during basement rehearsals near Toulouse.
