Prajãva – our philosophy

Prajãva is the Sri Lankan word for “community”. For us, the idea of community has never been more important to a business than it is now. Our philosophy is that the more a business looks after its community, the more its community looks after a business. So by considering the interests of customers, employees, suppliers etc., stronger and more fruitful relationships are formed.

Sustainable packaging

We’ve worked extremely hard to make our packaging more sustainable and our new 20 sachet teabag range and a number of other gift lines are free from plastics. To avoid short-term measures, like adopting corn starch-based PLA pyramid tea bags and other PLA packaging which isn’t sustainable when looking at their life-cycle environmental impact, we have developed a sophisticated long-term approach. This takes into account the total lifecycle of materials and systems and evaluates an array of environmental and social factors, alongside packaging integrity, performance, and economics
